Skylight with ventilation
Bunt Skylights specializes in the installation of natural light and skylights with ventilation systems. These are fully customised for each project. A skylight increases natural light in a stable, garage or shed, and can improve ventilation if desired.
Why choose a skylight with ventilation?
A skylight is designed to allow more natural light and ventilation in a stable, garage, or shed. A skylight allows daylight into the building through the roof. We often install a combined ventilation and light system. In livestock barns, for example, a skylight with ventilation contributes to a healthy climate. This improves the well-being of the livestock and yourself.

Ventilation is important in a livestock barn
A skylight with good ventilation is especially important in a livestock barn. Without proper ventilation, the building will quickly become hot, stuffy and humid. A hot or humid environment reduces feed intake in animals and reduces milk output. When animals’ temperatures rise, it causes stress, restlessness and health problems, resulting in milk loss and reduced fertility. It also lowers their resistance. Warm and humid spaces offer the perfect conditions for bacteria to multiply, so your cattle are more likely to become sick with a poorly ventilated roof. Poor ventilation also increases ammonia formation, which can impact livestock fertility.
Two types of skylights
Our skylights with ventilation are built with polycarbonate natural light panels. When we install a skylight with ventilation in your stable, shed or hall, you have a choice of two materials: translucent-white or clear natural light panels. There is no difference in price, but each has its advantages and disadvantages. Clear panels have a higher light throughput, for example, and the light is more direct and brighter. Translucent-white panels, on the other hand, keep the shed cooler. The light is softer and less bright, and is better distributed throughout the room. Translucent-white panels also have better insulating properties. We are happy to advise you on the best solution for your situation.
