Chimney ridge
Proper ventilation begins with the extraction of spent air, which is why proper suction in the ridge is very important. Extraction is not the only purpose of an open ridge, however. An open ridge also brings in light at the highest point of the roof for optimal lighting and minimal heat ingress. The open ridge gable roof creates a chimney effect for optimal suction. The width and height of the chimney determine the suction capacity. Bunt Skylights custom builds every skylight to specification to ensure proper air extraction. The ridge is fitted with translucent, double-walled polycarbonate sheets for optimal light dispersal with minimal heat ingress.
